In fulfillment of the order of the Head of State, given on January 31, 2017 within the framework of the Address to the nation of Kazakhstan “Third Modernization of Kazakhstan: Global Competitiveness”, the Ministry of National Economy of the Republic of Kazakhstan together with Center for Entrepreneurship Development of the Economic Research Institute JSC has conducted the rating of the regions on the ease of doing business since 2017.
The Ministry of National Economy of the Republic of Kazakhstan jointly with Economic Research Institute JSC in accordance with clause 3 of the Work Plan for the implementation of subnational “Doing Business” rating in the Republic of Kazakhstan, approved by order of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated May 4, 2018 № 53-p, hold the meetings of the World Bank experts with state bodies and local executive bodies to discuss the results of data collection for the “Subnational “Doing Business” rating in Kazakhstan.
In the World Bank's Doing Business 2019 report, released on October 31, 2018, Kazakhstan ranked 28th, raising its rating by 8 points compared to the last year.
On September 24-25, 2018 The Ministry for National Economy of the RoK, in conjuction with the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of the RoK and UN agencies, held the Second Technical Meeting of Experts on the Statistics of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
To enhance in-depth communication in regional economic cooperation between government officials, specialists and scholars from Central Asian countries, and also to promote mutual learning and face challenges together, the 1st Central Asia Think Tank Development Forum in cooperation of Economic Research Institute organized by Central Asia Regional Economic Cooperation Institute (hereinafter referred to as the CAREC Institute) together with Asian Development Bank (hereinafter referred to as ADB) was held from June 20 to June 21, 2016, at Nazarbayev University.
