Ruslan Sultanov spoke about the ERI activities and areas of work, including in the framework of cooperation with international research organizations.

During the meeting, the parties discussed issues of investment potential, opportunities for development of trade relations between the countries, problems of entrepreneurs, as well as restrictive measures due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Ambassador paid special attention to barriers of bilateral cooperation between Kazakhstan and India related to the lack of logistics networks between the countries, as well as language restrictions of Indian entrepreneurs when entering the Kazakhstan market. At the same time, it was noted that in the digitalization era, there are enough areas for cooperation that do not require direct contact.

One of the topics of discussion was scientific cooperation between analytical centers.

Today, ERI is working to expand a partner network of academic communities, including within the framework of the SCO Consortium.

The parties agreed to consider possibility of organizing joint seminars and online conferences with scientific and expert communities in order to discuss problematic trade issues and develop recommendations for governments of the countries.

For reference: India is one of the leaders of developing countries and is among the top ten countries in the world in terms of a number of industrial and agricultural production indicators. According to the World Bank, India is one of the leading countries in the world in terms of GDP: the country's GDP amounted to $ 2.6 trillion in 2020. Total GDP growth of the country in 2017/18 financial year is estimated at 6.5%. Today, there is a slight slowdown in the pace of economic growth (in the previous three years, the GDP growth rate did not fall below 7.1%).
